PaulEsmond Dobbin passed peacefully into eternity the night of March 20, 2007.

He was born November 15, 1908 to Dee Albert and Editha Wade (Manning) Dobbin in Red Creek, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Edward (NY) and John (Laurel, MT), and his sisters Wynona Wilkins (Portland, OR) and Doris Stott (Puyallup, WA) as well as Elizabeth (Buckingham) whom he married in 1959 and Gladys (Ebeling) whom he married in 1938.

Paul was a man of unpretentious passions, quietly pursuing excellence in work and play and family. If he boasted, it was in the accomplishments of others, but those who knew him admired his unfailing integrity, his gentle humor and his focus on what was good in each person and circumstance. Paul enjoyed working as a telegragh operator and ticket agent for Northern Pacific railroad at many Montana stations from Mandan to Livingston, including 15 years in Hysham, 6 years in Terry and 8 years in Miles City. During his 37 years at NP "strangers were simply friends he hadn't yet met" -- a trait which also served him well in his second career as a retiree. Where before he had energetically applied himself to being a first-rate employee, Paul became an avid gardener, fisherman and card player, enjoying travel, photography, dancing and teaching himself to play the organ along the way.

Paul never missed an opportunity to be grateful -- for a beautiful day, for health, for helpful friends, for loved one's -- living a full and gracious life for all his 99 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Mabel and his four children: Dennis (Judy) Dobbin (Buffalo, WY), Doug (Cindy) Dobbin (Glenwood Springs, CO), Ron (Marge) Dobbin (Willcox, AZ) and Paula (Lincoln) Wilson (Tubac, AZ). His legacy also includes 9 grandchildren: Kelly Holiday (Buffalo, WY), Jason Dobbin (Buffalo, WY), Brandy Dobbin (Aspen, CO); Justin Dobbin (Japan), Holly Womack (Malaysia); Tina Dunlap (Willcox, AZ), Ron Dobbin, Jr. (Phoenix, AZ);DeeAnn Westfall (Fort Collins, CO),Reagen Huey (Elburn, IL); and 16 adoring great-grandchildren.

Paul was a devout Catholic and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. A Rosary will be held Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 6:00 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery.
