Paul Eugene Hartman , age 78, of Miles City, Montana, passed away on August 30, 2023. He was born on July 18, 1945, to Frank and Mary Elizabeth Hartman in Dickinson, North Dakota. The family resided in Killdeer, North Dakota until 1955 when they relocated to a ranch along the Yellowstone River west of Miles City, Montana.
Paul married Donna Anderson in 1967. Between 1968 and 1980, their six children were born. Throughout his life, Paul worked as a ranch hand, broke horses, sold insurance, and sold real estate. He was truly a cowboy at heart. Paul had a deep love for music, old westerns, cigarettes and fine Scotch. Paul demonstrated his musical talent by playing a menagerie of instruments by ear. In recent months, Paul became acquainted with a son, Daniel Hodges, whom he was previously unaware of.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Betty Hartman, and his beloved sister, Janice. He is survived by his children: Paul A. Hartman, Janice (Steve) Dent, Dan Hartman, Julie Hartman, Eric Hartman, Elizabeth Hartman Ellsworth, and Daniel Hodges; siblings: Arla Jeanne (Bill) Murray, Junelle (Jeff) Lesmeister, Frank (Janis) Hartman, Leila Larson, David (Tina) Hartman, and Mary (Bob) Wiesner; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Stevenson’s Funeral Home in Miles City on September 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow graveside services at the Montana Bar. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
