Paul Jones

Visitation: Monday, April 27, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Forsyth

Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Forsyth

Burial: will follow in the Forsyth Cemetery

Paul Jone's, age 77 of Forsyth, MT., passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 23, 2009.

Paul was born July 9, 1931 in Forsyth, MT. to Hugh and Bertha Jone's. He attended the Howard Valley School. In the early 50s Paul worked for Bud and Bobbi Kramer, trucking their bucking horses to rodeos. He raised cattle and pigs for a number of years and then downsized and started raising leaf cutter bees and expanding into his custom pollinating of alfalfa for seed. He was a field man for A.B.I. Alfalfa Seed Company checking fields and writing contracts. He also served as President of the Montana Alfalfa Seed Association. He did custom combining for nearly 40 years. His goal was to work until he was 80 and then go into semi-retirement. He was a member of the Rosebud County Search and Rescue; where he had served as President and Search Manager. Although he became too ill to help, he was still interested in what was going on within the search and rescue organization. Paul was a member of the Gideons, where he enjoyed distributing the New Testament bibles to schoolchildren, and is a member of the Forsyth Wesleyan Church. He was active as a Rosebud-Treasure County 4-H Fat Beef leader, and the Rosebud-Treasure County Farm Bureau.Paul married Edith Baker in 1951; in union they had Jane and Clayton. In 1962, he married Kay (Thompson) Higginbotham; with stepdaughter Brenda Higginbotham, in union they had Paul Evan. Paul and Christie were married on February 18, 1972; with stepchildren, Becky and Wayne Thompson, in union they had Denise.

Paul is survived by his wife Christie, his children, Jane (Larry) Neumiller of Colstrip, MT, Clayton (Mary) Jone's of Forsyth, MT, Paul Evan (Tracie) Jone's of Forsyth, MT, Denise Wright of Lewistown, MT, his step-children, Brenda (Leroy) Walters of Shepherd, MT, Becky Thompson of Forsyth, MT, Wayne (Dawn) Thompson of Gallatin Gateway, MT, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and his dog Buddy.

Parents, Hugh and Bertha, brothers, Hugh and Owen Jone's and sister, Nina Smith preceded him in death.
