On the evening of Saturday, December 2, 2006 Paula left us to make her journey into the spirit world.

Paula Joyce Melbourne, age 52 Crazy Horse woman was born on July 30, 1954 in Poplar, MT to Lydia and Manuel Melbourne Sr. where she was raised and attended school. Paula (PJ) as her siblings called her had many hobbies, shed like to do. PJ enjoyed playing bingo and keno, driving around, visiting with family and friends, listening to pow wow music and watching her family dance at pow wows, and especially talking to her grandchildren, her pride and joys as she called them. Paula was always there to lend a helping hand, and a shoulder to lean on. We will all miss Paulas sense of humor, and we are all grateful for the many memories and laughs we had shared with Paula. Paula had worked at the Poplar Hospital and Billings Deaconess Hospital, Youth detention center and the Tribal jail, where she retired from. She was an active member of the Fort Peck Warrior Society.

Auntie Paula is survived by her sisters; Cheryl (Amos) Cloud of Poplar, Vermae Taylor of Wolf Point. Brothers; Manual (Leta) Melbourne, and Alvin Spotted Elk of Poplar, and Clifford Melbourne of Portland, OR. Aunts; Donna Chase of Chelsea, and Lydia Johnson of Wapato, WA., Imogene (Perry) Lilley and nieces; Sandra (Wylan) Jone's of Wolf Point, Stephanie Cloud, Vermae Smith, Ronetta and Rhonda Clark, Shirley (Bootsie) Jackson, Sharon Grandboise, and Diane Taypayosatum of Poplar. Nephews; Amos and Joseph Cloud, Curtis Crazy Bull, Nana Mireau of Poplar, Jimmy, Tommy, and Duane Smith Jr. of Billings. A special grand daughter; Isabella Jone's of Wolf Point and many extended family members of the Fort Peck area.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2006 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will be held at the Poplar City Cemetery.
