Pauline Morast, age 98 of Terry passed away on April 2, 2011 at TLC Assisted Living Center surrounded by her family.
Pauline was born on December 7, 1912 in Beulah, ND the daughter of John and Karolina (Flemmer) Doffee. She spent her youth on the family farm in the Beulah, ND area, she was the oldest of 10 children. On March 24, 1935 she married Emil Morast and moved to Olanda, MT. For the next 13 years they farmed and ranch North of Terry, and welcomed their son Clemens and daughter Adeline. In 1948 they built a home in Terry while still maintaining the family farm, spending their summer on the farm and winters in town. Their family was completed with the addition of daughters Beverly and Karen.
Pauline was a devoted homemaker who loved to garden, can, bake, crochet and quilt. She also enjoy sewing and doing craft projects. She was well known in the area for her Barbie doll clothes. She began playing the organ for her church at age 15 and continued playing until the age of 89, serving her Lord faithfully. She was a long time member of Wesleyan Church in Terry. She won many awards for her accomplishments and on three occasions was named Homemaker of the Year. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. Pauline was an example of a Proverbs 31 woman.
Pauline is survived by her three daughters, Adeline (Dennis) Ross of Miles City, Beverly (Carroll) Bement of Tuscaloosa, AL and Karen (Tim) Hess of Terry, MT: one brother, Albert Doffee of Bismarck, ND; one sister, Bertha Neubauer of Portland, OR; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Emil, son Clemens, parents John and Karolina Doffee, five brothers, Johnny, August, Phillip, Sammy, and Otto Doffee; and three sisters, Eva Wegner, Ester Morris and Martha Pearson.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Terry, MT. Interment will follow at the Prairie County Cemetery.
