She was born to Arthur and Elizabeth (Kolitiska) Briggs on July 15, 1935 in Sheridan, WY. Polly spent her younger childhood in Wyoming and when she was a teenager they moved to Silesia, MT. She graduated high school from Joliet and after graduation she worked for an Abstract Company working in Minot, ND and Billings.
On November 17, 1956 she married James Stephenson and they started their life together on the farm at Joliet. They farmed at Joliet until 1965, moving to Belfry until 1974 and then to Worland, WY until 1978. Returning to MT they settled in Hysham and continued to farm.
Mom spent much of her life working right alongside Dad, never hesitant to do anything, she drove harvest truck, ran the combine, night shift during calving season, working cattle and always loved to ride her horse.
Mom had many talents; the grandkids loved her homemade rolls and holiday dinners, she knitted, crocheted and sewed, always crafting something for the grandkids. Mom was an avid reader and loved to watch movies, especially old movies. "Gone with the Wind" was her most favorite.
Mom was a wonderful lady, always thinking of others and excited about the next family get together.
