Peggy Coy

Memorial service: 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming.

Peggy Costans Coy, age 47, of Gillette, Wyoming died peacefully on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 of a primary malignant brain tumor and was cremated. A memorial service for Peggy will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming.

Peggy was born on January 24, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to George and Beverly Costans and raised in Minnetonka, Minnesota. She was the youngest of three children. She married Carl David Coy on October 13, 1979 in Minnetonka, MN and they lived in MN, CO and WY during their marriage. They had two children: Ryan and Shannon.Employed at Campbell County School District for twenty years,

Peggy was a Special Education Teacher, Case Manager, and had just accepted a position at TSJH as a School Counselor when she suddenly became ill.

Peggy aspired to earn her doctorate in Psychology with an emphasis on giftedness and counseling gifted children and their families. She graduated with an MA in School Counseling from Adams State College in 2001; an MA in Special Education/Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1981; a BA in Psychology and a BS in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology from St. Cloud State University in 1979; an AA from Bemidji State University in 1977, and from Hopkins Eisenhower High School in Minnetonka, MN in 1975.

Peggy had many passions in life: writing, exercise, reading, beautiful flowers, advocacy fro gifted children, backpacking/hiking, trying to grow trees, her yard, crafts, expensive clothes at bargain prices, email, travel, people with curious minds, Survivor, intriguing quotes, crafts, finding the ironic in the everyday, art, current events, solitude, lifelong learning, and walking her dog.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Ryan of Frisco, Colorado, and Shannon, attending Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD; her mom, Beverly Costans of Minnetonka, MN; her brother, Scott Costans, of Minneapolis, MN; her mom-in-law, Beverly Coy of Gulf Breeze, FL; her former spouse/close friend, Carl Coy of Silverthorne, Colorado; her longtime friend, Belinda Hays, of Gillette, her beloved dog, Emma; and many other family, friends, and acquaintances.
