In Memory Of

Peggy L. Hagadone, age 74 of Plevna

December 19, 1946 – April 16, 2021

In the early morning hours of April 16, 2021, Peggy peacefully passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 74 years old.

Peggy Lee Bickle Hagadone was born in Miles City, Montana on December 19, 1946. She was the oldest of four children born to James and Wanda (Atkinson) Bickle. Peggy attended elementary and high school in Baker, Montana where she graduated in spring of 1965. After high school, Peggy went on to go to college at the University of Montana. After she graduated college she moved to Poplar, Montana to start her teaching career. It was in Poplar that Peggy met a tall handsome Norwegian boy named James Hagadone. They were married in Miles City, Montana on April 1st, 1972. Both Peggy and Jim were 25 years old.

Two children, Scott and Kristin were born to Peggy and Jim while living in Poplar. After Kristin was born, Peggy and Jim decided to move back to live and work on the Bickle family ranch in Plevna, Montana. Peggy continued to help with the cattle ranching business. She also was very active in the community with Fallon Creek Cowbelles, Peace Lutheran Church Women’s Group, and substitute teaching in Plevna. She enjoyed cooking and canning. Peggy liked to embroiderand do puzzle books. She also loved her pets that she always had around the ranch or house from Snuffy her childhood dog to Lander the latest puppy and all the cats in between. Peggy had a great sense of humor and a joke ready to tell which was always followed by the most infectious laugh.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Wanda Bickle.

Peggy is survived by her husband Jim Hagadone of Plevna, son Scott (Fi) Hagadone of Tracy, CA, daughter (Kristin) of Coeur d’Alene, ID, siblings John (Jan) of Plevna, Carrie (Sally) of Walnut Creek, CA, Heidi (Todd) of Buffalo, WY and two grandchildren: Brooke Hagadone and Bella Ric

The family wants to thank the community of friends and extended family who would always come and visit mom while she was in and out of the hospital. She always enjoyed seeing people and it always brought her great joy.

To the Bickle and Hagadone families, extending our heartfelt sympathies to each of you at this time. We so enjoyed Peggy’s friendship. She was always quick to say ” Hello” and share her contagious sense of humor. She had such a lovely smile and as mentioned an infectious laugh that would warm the moment. May you be comforted by such memories and hold them dear to your hearts. Hugs and embraces from the Alvin Wenz family.

So sad to learn of Peggy’s passing. We had a lot of memories from our high school years. I received such a nice letter from her less than 3 months ago. Hopefully she was able to get my letter in response before she died. She was a special person.
Heartfelt condolences to all her family.
