Peter “Pete” McDonagh, age 86, passed away on February 13, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT. He was born on August 16, 1933, to James and Violet McDonagh. He attended parochial grade and high school in Miles City.
After high school, Peter was drafted in the U.S. Army. He attended basic training in Fort Lewis, Washington. He was deployed to Korea for 21 months before returning home. He then joined his brother Jim, farming at Rosebud, MT for over 50 years. Ten years ago they sold the farm and retired to Miles City taking up residence at the Holy Rosary Hospital in the Senior Living Center. After Jim’s passing Peter moved to the Park View Care Center on Strevell Ave.
Peter is survived by his sister Alice (Gary) Parks, Sioux Falls, John (Donna) McDonagh, Puyallup, WA, Owen (Nancy) McDonagh, St. Paul, MN and several nieces and nephews.
Peter was preceded in death by his siblings: Eunice Ganteaume, New York City, Jim, Rosebud, Charles, Miles City, Eleanor Klar, Spokane, WA, Will, Sturgis, SD and Theresa Weber, Miles City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Eastern Montana Veteran’s Cemetery in Miles City, MT.
Peter’s family would like to thank Butch Hein, Sherry Stoltz and Holy Rosary Hospital for his care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Miles City.
