Visitation: Tuesday, July 5th, 2005 with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home

Funeral Service: Wednesday, July 6th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Interment: Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Miles City with full military honors provided by Post #1579.

PeterRonning, age 72, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.

Peter was born in Miles City, Montana onJune 12, 1933, the son of Peter & Elizabeth (Meyer) Ronning. He was raised at Angela, Montana until the age of five, when they moved to Jordan. He went to school at Jordan thru the tenth grade and graduated from Custer County High School in 1951. He married Stella Bitz in 1954 and to this union, a daughter Jan was born. They later divorced and in 1961, he married LucilleHeiss. He worked for Love Motor, later Miles City Ford for thirty years. He ran his own shop with his son for several years before going to work for Kelly Auto Repair. Pete was a member of the Elks Lodge for 47 years, a life member of the VFW and an active member of the High Plains Car Club. Pete loved to fish and boat and spent many weekends with his friends on the lake.

Pete is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Ronning of Miles City. MT; his wife Lucille of Miles City, MT; a daughter Jan Ronning of Big Fork, MT; his sons William (Donna)Ronning of Miles City, MT; and Curtis (Toni) of Shepherd, MT; his granddaughters: Jennifer and Stacie Hilderman (Kent Fellingham), grandsons: Matthew and McCalister Ronning, Jake Hilderman, Ryan Ronning, Beau and Drew Miles; a great granddaughter, Reigen ; his brothers: Alan (Beverly) Ronning of Fruita, CO, Arvid (Linda) Ronning of Miles City, MT, Oscar (Donna)Ronning of Dickinson, ND, and Leif (Alice) Ronning of Miles City, MT; a sister, Carol (Grayson Brakke) of Big Timber, MT, and numerous nieces, nephews and all his little friends who called him grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held all day Tuesday, July 5th, 2005 with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6th, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Miles City with full military honors provided by Post #1579.
