Phoenix Reign Lonebear; Taa’évena’hané’e (Killsnight Woman) born on June 16th 2016 to Larissa Killsnight and Don Lonebear Jr. was called home by Maheo the Creator on the morning of August 20th 2016. She was with us for just a short time but she had made a big impact on every body that had met her. We don’t know why things like this tend to happen but as Cheyenne people we believe there is a reason behind every doing. Our baby girl is home with her family who had gone before her now and she will continue to watch over us until our time comes to join her. Even though she was only 2 months old she acted as if she was much older. No words can explain the pain we carry in our hearts but we know she’d want us to continue on and make a better life for her and her siblings. She is survived by her parents, siblings; LeJo Henry, Memphis, Aiyana, and Travis Jr. Grandparents; Don Allen Lonebear Sr (Roberta), Lavon Firecrow, Stella Ashley, Roberta Ashley, Rosanne Headswift (Wayne), Troy Harris (Jonita) , Viola Biglefthand (Ron Yazzie), Melanie and Dexter Poitra Sr., Alvin Biglefthand, Dustin and Milan Goudreaux, Del Harris (Tina LittleOldMan), Gwen Talawyma, Anthony (Leslie) and Christopher Killsnight. Great-Grandparents; Linda Freeman, Emma Harris, and Tony Killsnight (Betty), Silas Biglefthand (Alice), Great Great Grandparents; Bertha Beartusk-Freeman and Leroy Pine Sr. Aunties; Destiny Tallwhiteman (Travis TwoTwo Sr), Tommy Rose, Kelly and Latisha Nightwalker, Carmen Silk, Kylee Strever, Heather OldBear (Myles TallBull), Elvalyn and Cedar Lonebear, Shanda LaFranier. Uncles; Tyson and Redelk Lonebear, and Torilee Poitra. She is preceded in death by her Great-grandparents; Joe & Gertrude Firecrow Sr, Lee Lonebear, Leroy Poitra, Edwin Biglefthand, Karen Walksnice, George and Bernice Harris, James Sr and Regina Killsnight. We apologize if we forgot to mention any names for Phoenix had a huge family. We’d also like to give a huge thank you to Maurice Little, Tawny, Nikki Spottedeagle and the rest of the IHS ER staff who attempted to save our baby girls life. Ha’Ho.

I don’t understand why God would want to take such a tiny infant home when he has not even had a chance to become what God had created him to be. My condolences to baby Phoenix’s family. I pray he will dance & play with the angels in his new dwelling. Rest in Peace baby Phoenix.

Five sparrows sell for two coins of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows Luke 12:6,7.

I know what a good mother you are. I know you feel like your world is shattered. Don, I know you must be heartbroken also. But, please be extra loving and patient with Larissa. You both need to be there for each other. It is a tough old world. And have faith that you will see Phoenix again when we leave this cruel old world.
