Rachel Woodenlegs also known as Mitch with her brothers and sisters, was raised in the Northern Cheyenne traditional culture by Grandpa James Walkslast-Mclane. Her Indian name is Vekseoha “Bird Woman”. She attended Bellingham Technical College and graduated with a registered nurse degree.
Rachel was always a quiet and humble lady, but she was always wanting to extend helping hand at gatherings. Her favorite past time was doing crossword puzzles and reading. Rachel loved and adored animals. She loved her grandkids with all her heart. Her grandchildren were always on her mind, and she enjoyed spoiling them. She loved to travel back and forth between Lame Deer, MT and Bellingham, WA to visit her family and friends.
Rachel is survived by her former partner Jeffrey Allen Solomon and their children Jeffrey Reuben Solomon (Susan Joy Solomon), Amanda Sophia Woodenlegs (Rafael Cruz), Joram Jawort (Lena Hernandez), and grandchildren: Josephina, Desmond, Angelina, Mercedes, Jasmin, Julianne, Leo, and Isabella; brothers and sisters: Ursula Woodenlegs, Marvin Woodenlegs, Thomas Woodenlegs, Thomasine Woodenlegs, Rebekah Tallbull, extended families include Waters, Smalls, Kellums, Bright Wings, Big Man, Whistling Elks, Kathy Bellymule, Linda Two Two, Woodenlegs, Tallbulls, Whitedirts, Morrison, Littlewhirlwinds, Limberhands, and Shoulderblade..
Rachel Ann Woodenlegs was born December 10, 1962 in Crow Agency, Montana to parents; Freida Walks Last and Thomas Woodenlegs II. She passed away on August 12, 2024.
Rachel is preceded in death by son, Kevin Rae; sister, Sophie Ballew; brother, Joel Woodenlegs and Larry Redwoman, and her parents.
