In Memory Of

Ramona Grace Gunn

April 1, 1956 – September 24, 2011

Ramona Grace Gunn (Me´kona´e, Head Woman) age 55 went home to be with the creator on September 24, 2011 in Yakima, Washington .Mona was born in Lander, WY on April 1, 1956 to Elva Medicine Bull and Lawrence Shotgunn Sr. She was raised in Ethete, WY until 1974 and was in the Mormon placement program that led her to Seattle where she attended the University of Washington Foster School of Business. Mona moved to Yakima where she remained until the time of her passing surrounded by many loved one's. She lived a complete life full of never ending love and happiness. She was an extremely caring and thoughtful person and never let life´s obstacles weigh her down. It was always the little things that made her happy, like waking up early in the morning to sit outside and drink her coffee or listening to the oldies while cleaning her house. Mona made it a part of her day to wake up at sunrise to watch her inspirational show "Joyce Meyers". She always found happiness with her two daughters, Dawn and Melissa and her son, Robert and most of all her four grandchildren, Sharea (Nay-Nay), Brandon (Poppa), Cali (Sissy) and her youngest, Akira (Baby peanut). All of her kids were her rock and kept her strong, happy and on her toes. Mona was the light that everyone looked to when they needed comfort or just wanted to be surrounded by good vibes. Just the physical presence of her or the sound of her voice would fill us with an incredible feeling of peace. Anyone who met her would automatically be drawn in by her ability to inspire and felt her true kindness. Even though she was far from home she always thought and prayed for her brothers and sisters and extended family often. She would keep close contact with her older sister Alice and share stories about their grandkids or old times. She shared lots of great times with everyone in her life. Ramona will be extremely missed and she would want us to remember that although we don´t have her physical presence we do have the love, memories and inspiration she left with us all. She lived a life full of happiness that is worth celebrating and we are all thankful for the creator placing her in our lives and giving us our time together. We will keep you alive in our hearts until the day we meet again. We will always love you.
Ramona is survived by her children, Dawn, Melissa, and Robert, her sisters, Alice, Roberta and Laurencita, her brother, Robert Shotgun, her grandchildren, Sharea, Brandon, Caliahna and Akira, her aunt, Eva Medicine Bull-Bear Chum, her uncle, Wayne (Rosanne) Headswift of Lame Deer, MT, her aunt, Mary (David) Yazzie of Rigby, ID, her uncle, Burton, her aunt, Joyce Hutchinson and aunt Marjorie Pizaro of Ethete, WY, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were very dear to her.
