Interment: Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
Ramona Honstain,age 79, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Holy Rosary Health Care in Miles City.
Ramona was born on February 9, 1930 in Lemmon, South Dakota the daughter of Vinal Reeser and Margaret (Stephenson) Parrott. She attended schools in South Dakota where she graduated from high school. Ramona went on to begin nurses training in Aberdeen, SD for three months before moving to Miles City where she finished training to become a registered nurse. Ramona and Al Honstain were married in 1961 and they lived in Miles City, where they started their family. Ramona continued on with her education and soon received her Nurse practitioners Licenses from North Dakota and returned home to Miles City. Ramona dedicated several decades of her life to serving the Miles City as a nurse practitioners, something she was very proud of. She worked at both the Holy Rosary Hospital and the VA Hospital. After Ramonas retirement, she volunteered in many capacities in the church and medical areas. Ramonas welcoming smile and kind hands will be missed by many.
Ramona is survived by her sons; Brian (Grace) Honstain of Billings, MT and Pat Honstain of Powell, WY, Pam Honstain and sister LaVonne Sherwood of Wallace, Idaho, a sister-in-law Betty Parrott of Rapid City, SD, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Al, son Bruce Honstain, a grandson Josh Honstain, and brother Vinal Parrott, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
