Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the Church of Christ in Gillette, WY

Interment: will follow at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, WY

Funeral services for Randy Schaefer, age 48, of Gillette, will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 15, 2004 at the Church of Christ in Gillette, Wyoming with Paul Kearby officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at the Church of Christ. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Randy died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at his home in Gillette, Wyoming after a battle with cancer.

Randall Allen Schaefer was born August 4, 1955, the son of Helen Lorraine (Peterson) and Joseph Frederick Schaefer in Cloquet, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Hinckley, Minnesota, where he graduated from high school in 1973. In 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Cheri Lindgren in Watertown, South Dakota. Upon graduation, they made their home in Hinckley, Minnesota. In 1978, Randy made the move to Gillette where he worked for Flint Engineering for ten years. In May of 1987, Randy began working for area fields as a pumper. In the early 1990s, Randy started Schaefers Acre, as a woodworking business although this came 2nd to pumping, this was his passion. He was a member of the Antelope Valley Homeowners Board, in the past a member of the Ham Radio Club, and currently a member of the Woodworking.com Forum, since his health wouldnt allow him to wood work. His wife remembers him as willing to try anything.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and guns. He liked to travel to Deadwood, South Dakota. Most importantly, he loved watching movies and spending time with his family. He felt he was a lucky person.

Randy is survived by his wife, Cheri; four sons: Steve Schaefer of Tucson, Arizona; Scott Schaefer of Gila Bend, Arizona; Patrick Schaefer and Matthew Schaefer both of Gillette, Wyoming; five daughters: Jennifer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jackie of Gila Bend, Arizona; Rachel, Stacy, and Casey all of Gillette, Wyoming; four brothers: Gary of North Branch, Minnesota; Dan of Hinckley, Minnesota; Michael of Moose Lake, Minnesota; Robert of Rush City, Minnesota; two sisters: Becky of Moose Lake, Minnesota; Sandy of Duluth, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother, Bill Schaefer; one infant son in 1978; and one infant daughter in 1991.
