Ray was born August 12, 1937 in Dickenson, ND to Frank and Alyce (Nozdrovaty) Zastoupil. He attended Catholic Grade School, Middle School and High School in Dickenson, ND. After graduation Ray served in the Army from 1956 to 1958. He then worked for Northern Pacific Railroad and BNSF for 42 years.
On May 3, 1963 Ray married Pauline "Punky" (Wetsch) Zastoupil in Sheridan, WY. Together they lived and raised their family in Forsyth.
Ray enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and most recently doing puzzles.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Punky of 48 years, his son, Tracey (Shelly) Zastoupil of Elko, NV, his daughter, Brenda Zastoupil of Scottsdale, AZ, his grandchildren, Ryan and Zach, his brothers, Lester (Beverly) Zastoupil and James (Sharon) Zastoupil, his sisters, Bernice Wolbaum and Margie (Dave) Hitrick.
The Zastoupil family would like to express sincere appreciation for Ray´s "special nurses".
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 10:00am to 6:00pm at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Forsyth with full military honors.
