Raymond Gene Wimp passed away January 22, 2013 at Holy Rosary Hospice in Miles City after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Gene was born August 15, 1940 in Eads, CO the son of Warner and Nancy (Kingsbury) Wimp. Gene was the youngest child out of eleven siblings. He was raised in Eads, CO where he attended school until he joined the Army in 1957 at the early age of 17. He served in the Army until 1960 when he was honorably discharged. Gene moved around working various jobs before settling down in Hardin, MT where he started his own electrical company. In 1988 he moved to Miles City and began working for A&A Electric for a few years and Gene eventually opened Gene’s Electric, which he operated for over 20 years until he was no longer able to due to health reasons. During that time, he also helped Mangen’s Electric Inc. on various jobs.
Gene was an avid Denver Broncos fan and loved to watch all the games. He truly enjoyed his work as an electrician and the challenges that came with the job. Most of all he loved spending time visiting with his close friends.
Memorials may be made to the Wake Up And Lace Up Foundation or to Holy Rosary Hospice.

I will miss competing with Gene on the football scores and teasing him about the Broncos. He was a very kind man and always so soft-spoken and polite. It was a pleasure to get to know him.

“I am one of Gene’s 6 siblings that is still living. A number of family members have tried to connect with Gene in past years (the last time was 2 years ago) on several occasions through various sources and they were unable to locate where he lived. Our hearts are saddened that we were not aware of his location and his declining health.
We want to say thank you for all who loved and cared for him during his illness and death and for your kind loving comments.
A daughter-in-law is a great Bronco’s fan. They would have had some good conversations.
If some of his friends would be willing to share what they know about his illness, the information would be greatly appreciated.

I will also miss his quiet demeanor. he was quite the gentleman and won’t hurt a soul if you paid him a million dollars. he was quite the electrician. When Mike and I bought our house he came over several times to help us out with various electrical problems. he was very picky about who he would do work for. I am blessed every day that he thought enough about Mike and I to come over and help us out. Hope he says hi to everyone in Heaven and is happy!
