Renecia Rose Youngbull (Harris)
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful girl and daughter, Renecia Rose (Harris) Youngbull. Renecia left this world at 8:00 pm, Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Renecia came into the world May 7, 1983, ironically right at the St. Vincent Hospital where she left us. Her long battle with anxiety, depression and severe addiction of alcoholism is over finally and now she can rest with no more pain, no sorrow, and no fear.
Renecia never did recover from the loss of her baby brother, Lindsay James, who left us in March 2019. She longed to see him again and God granted her wish.
Renecia was steeped in the Cheyenne ways and traditions. She also fully believed in Christ and held that faith. She was raised in her very early years by her Oklahoma Grandma, Eleanor Bullcoming. Renecia was an enrolled member of the Cheyenne/Arapaho tribes on her mother’s side. She was also Northern Cheyenne on her dad’s side.
She was a Kit Fox sister in Oklahoma and held many pow wow princess titles as well as miss Northern Cheyenne in 1998-1999. She was an accomplished Southern Buckskin dress dancer.
Renecia was a graduate of Chief Dull Knife College and went on to MSU-B in Billings, MT where she was on the Dean’s honor roll her first semester there.
Renecia had a big heart and will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She was kind and loving, reliable, respectful, empathetic and she loved with all her heart like her little brother. She never looked down on people. She was non-judgmental and the most forgiving person we ever knew.
Renecia loved her husband and babies with all that she was and loved being a mom beyond measure.
Renecia is preceded in death by her brother, LJ Harris; grandfathers, Gilbert Harris, and Chief Frank Redcherries; grandmothers, Eleanor Bullcoming of Seiling, OK, and Delores Tidzump of Ft. Washakie, WY.
So much more can be said about Renecia, we apologize to anyone we left out in her obituary because so many were an important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Braveheart Youngbull of Billings, MT; sibling, Rebecca (Becky) Harris of El Reno, OK; special niece, Erin Harris Pedro who is also a big sister to all six kids: Jeremiah (17), Tory (16), Tehya (15), Micah (12), Ryder )12), and the baby of the family, Royce (10); mom and dad, Ron and Norene Harris of Billings, MT.
There is no word for “Goodbye” in Cheyenne, only we will see you later. Rest in peace, our beautiful girl, may the angels take you to heaven.

At Montana State University-Billings (MSUB), we have known Renecia Rose Youngbull as a brilliant, hard working student; a kind, curious, and thoughtful part of our Human Services program. It was a shock to all of us faculty and we haven’t fully processed the loss as a department. We are all grieving in our own way – may the Creator Bless her soul and Give the strength to her family and loved ones to bear this loss.
On behalf of the faculty & students from her department of Human Services
Lots of prayers and our condolence,
Ambrin
