In Memory Of

Rhoda Strait, age 48, of Miles City

June 6, 1966 – August 30, 2014

Rhoda Rae Strait was born June 6, 1966 to Francis John Strait and Barbara Ann Strait (Mulkey) in the small town of Ekalaka, Mt. Her father was a hard working truck driver, who at one time ran and owned a feed store. Her mother was a cook at the school and later on continued cooking as a living, which is where Rhoda acquired many of her talents in cooking.

On Saturday August 30 heaven gained a beautiful angel, full of warmth and love. She will forever be in our hearts.

In her younger years she enjoyed spending as much time with her father as she could. She was a daddy’s girl. She went trucking with him, worked with him and learned many talents from him.

Rhoda enjoyed life. Some of her favorite things to do was cooking for her boys, gardening, music, friends, shiny things, of course her CSI shows, the occasional romance novel, and living life the best she could. She loved her sons with all her heart. They were her whole world. Rhoda and her mother were also very close, they enjoyed many things together.

Rhoda is survived by her mother Barbara Ann Strait, her sons Stephan James Strait, and Levi Francis Strait. Also her sister Jeanie Kuntz, brothers Rod and Lee Strait, and many more aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father Francis Strait, a grandmother Daisy Strait, and great grandmother Louise Sheffield.

Rhoda loved life. She had a huge loving heart. She would help a family member or friend in any way she could. Her sons Stephan and Levi are as different as night and day but one common thing they share, that she passed along to them, was her huge loving heart. She taught them to love unconditionally. We will miss the glow of light she brought into the room, her big beautiful smile, tight warm hugs, her big hair and her wonderfully warm laugh. She loved so unconditionally.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to pastor Tom of Broadus, Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home, and all the support from our friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the family lot of the Beaverlodge Cemetery in Ekalaka. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be sent to Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in your loving memories and in knowing that our Heavenly Father promises we will see our loved ones again in the resurrection. (Mark 5:28)
He also gives us a beautiful promise in Isaiah 25:8 -He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
For Jehovah himself has spoken it.
While your grief is great now, the joy when you see Rhonda again will be greater.

Cherish all your happy memories and I hope that you are consoled by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).
