A gathering for Richard Damrau, age 57, of Gillette, Wyoming, will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 2, 2004, at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home in Tigerton, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Tigerton, Wisconsin with Reverend Clifford Kessen officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery in Tigerton, Wisconsin.
Richard Herman Damrau was born May 30, 1946, the son of Martin and Irene (Larsen) Damrau in Neenah, Wisconsin. In 1964, he graduated from Neenah, Wisconsin High School. Upon his graduation, he attended college in Illinois. On July 1, 1964, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for four years, and was honorably discharged on June 28, 1968. He married Barbara Pflum on October 20, 1973. The couple renewed their vows on December 13, 2003. Richard worked at several different electrical companies including: Campbell County Memorial Hospital, Campbell County Engineers Office as an electrical inspector, Continental Electric as a Master Electrician, New Electric, and West Electric.
Richards life revolved around his family. He loved going hunting, fishing, reloading, and riding horses. He was a life member in the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the National Pony Express Organization, and the National Rifle Association.
Richard is survived by his wife Barbara of Gillette, Wyoming; daughters: Pamela (Dave) Peters of Fonddulac, Wisconsin; Deborah (Jim) Retzlaff of Tigerton, Wisconsin; Cindi (Mike) Blumriech of Tigerton, Wisconsin; Dawn Blumriech of Tigerton, Wisconsin; Cheryl (Chris) Chitwood of Gillette, Wyoming; Melissa (Toby) Stephens of Gillette, Wyoming; one brother-in-law, John Andreski of Iron River, Michigan; two nephews: Jeff and Mark Andreski, both of Iron River, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren and four and one half great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mareen Andreski, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
