When shadows fall across our lives and dim the sunshine glow, by being here you help us bear our grief, and onward go. With that thought in mind on behalf of the family, we thank you for attending the service.

Dick – You know how much you have been a part of our lives since we moved to Ridge in 1964. You never ever missed an opportunity to come see me when I was home and you knew my children’s names, my husband’s name and so much more. Remember the horrible winter of 1979 when there was no electricity for days on end and you would motor down on your snowmobile to relieve dad and I of the monotony of feeding day after day alone? I still don’t like playing cards, but it was always fun to visit. I love you Dick!

I extend my condolences to the family of Richard at this difficult time. Losing someone you to love to death can be a very difficult thing to cope with. Perhaps you can gain some comfort in what Jesus said to the sister of Lazarus when he died. John 11:25 states, “Jesus said to her: ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.'” I hope these words are of some consolation.

  17. Michele Birkner says

    August 19, 2013 at 8:26 pm

So sorry to hear about Dick. I remember him fondly when meeting him and you boys about 45 years ago while visiting Uncle Matt and Aunt Esther. It is so hard to lose a father. My thoughts are with you. Michele Birkner from Peoria, Illinois

  18. Kent Busch says

    March 27, 2015 at 2:06 pm

Just thinking of the good times had when hunting on the Dinstel family ranch and was sorry to see that Dick had passed. Bruce, you have my sincerest sympathies, I fully understand as my mother and father died in the past couple years as well. Vern always liked talking with Dick. I was always impressed at how hard he worked every day.

Add your thoughts and memories. Upon approval they will be added.
