Richard John Was, age 78, of Warren, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Trumbull Memorial Forum Health Hospital in Warren.

Richard was born in Warren, Ohio on July 28, 1926, the son of Michael and Antonina (Sitek) Was. Richard served in the United States Navy during World War II. Richard was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Richard is survived by his wife, Vivian P. (Wheatley) Was of Warren, Ohio; a son, William F. Harris of Camas, Washington; three daughters: Alice J. Metheney of Quaker City, Ohio; Mary A. Haydal of Miles City, Montana; and Kimberly R. Miller of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother,Sidmund Was of Charlotte, North Carolina; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, and a sister.
