Richard (Dick) Dale Kistler, age 62, of South Broadus, MT passed away at home on Aril 28, 2004.

Richard was the oldest of five children born to Dale and Gladys (Bell) Kistler in Mitchell, South Dakota. He spent his childhood and early teen years in Mitchell, before moving to Gillette, Wyoming in the early 1960s. Richard worked in the oil fields in the Gillette area before returning to Mitchell. He drove school bus for the Davidson County School District taking students to New York and Washington DC on school trips. While living in Mitchell, he met and married Carol Zimmerman in 1971. They moved back to Gillette where Richard returned to work in the oil fields for Exater Drillings Co. When Exater Drilling moved the rig to the Greeley, Colorado area, Richard and his family moved with them. Richard, Carol and son Chad then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he went to work for Jerry Bachlet Construction, and would help in the building of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

While he was on a weekend deer-hunting trip to Cobb Cains in 1991, Richard decided to stay that fall and winter, where he helped Cobb feed cattle and cut wood. In June of 1999, Richard and Audrey moved their mobile home to its present location on the George and Evelene Fulton ranch, where they called home. Richard served in the U.S. Army from April of 1964 to April of 1966 of which 13 months were over seas in special weapons.
