Richard Zimmerman, age 77, of Wolf Point, Montana left us to join his son Mark in heaven on September 21, 2008. He passed away at Billings Clinic due to complications after open-heart surgery.
Richard Zimmerman was born on October 18, 1930 in Wolf Point, Montana. He was the youngest of seven children born to Edward & Elsie Zimmerman. He grew up on the family farm north of Wolf Point and continued to farm that land his entire life.He attended school in rural Wolf Point and graduated from Wolf Point High School. He then served in the Marines during the Korean War.
He married Violet Finkbeiner on September 9, 1957. To this union four children were born, Renee, Duane, Mark and Darla.Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved to go out to the farm and pick rocks by hand.
He is survived by his wife, Violet of Wolf Point; his children: Renee Eggebrecht and Duane (Colette) Zimmerman both of Wolf Point, and Darla Zimmerman of Missoula; Two sisters: Bernice Zimmerman of Wolf Point, and Virginia Coulson of Mexico, one brother Russell (Shirley) of Wolf Point; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark, his parents and three sisters.
