Richard Morrison, age 78, of Lame Deer passed away on May 2, 2015 at St. Vincent’s HealthCare in Billings, MT. He was born in Crow Agency, MT on May 15, 1936 to Clyde Redneck and Rena Littlehead. He was adopted and raised by Roy F. Spang. His brothers are Raymond and Lyman Spang and adopted brother Clair Clubfoot. His sisters are Lucy Anne Fisher, Regina Whiteman and adopted sister Fanny Perkins.
Richard married Delma Bullshoe and together they had four children: Gilbert “Mucko” Redneck-Spang, Jr., Clyde, Julene, and Robert Redneck. Richard and Delma raised their niece and nephew Jason and Cindy Fisher.
Richard did many things in his life but his main passion was advocating for the rights of the Northern Cheyenne people. He belonged to the Elk Scrapers Society. Richard loved to travel, tell stories and make others laugh. He loved his nieces and nephews, but especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Richard will be greeted on the other side by his mother Rena; step-father Roy; brothers; sisters; sons Mucko & Robert; and all his other relatives that went before him including his great-great-grandfather, Chief Dull Knife.
He is survived by his children Clyde and Julene Redneck; brother Clair; nephew Jason; his grandchildren: Brandon (Amanda) Little Coyote, Cala Jo ( Shawn) Redneck, Abigail (Thomas) Higgins, Savaya Lucero, Lindsey (Steve) Barber, Harrison (Jessie) Rock Above, Amber Redneck; and all of his great-grandchildren who meant so much to him; his nieces and nephews, who were all like his children; cousins who were his brothers and sisters, and all of his family and friends.
A Traditional Wake will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in the Lynch Coulee area, north of Lame Deer. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Lynch Coulee at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the Redneck Family Cemetery near Lynch Coulee.
