Richard Frank Schoonover, age 68, of Broadus passed away early November 1, 2008 at his home.
Frank was born March 18, 1940 to Jack and Baye (Smith) Schoonover in Broadus, Montana. Frank enlisted in the United States Army in the early 1960s and was later discharged, returning home to help his dad on the ranch. On April 30, 1976, Frank married Betty Inskip, daughter of Skip and Esther Inskip. They were married for 19 years and had four children. He worked odd jobs and on the oil rigs. He loved to ride horses, fish, hunt, farm and visit with family and friends. Frank loved his two grandsons and also his dog Sam.
Frank is survived by four children: Priscilla McDowell (JJ) and their son Seth McDowell all of Powderville, MT; Frankie Schoonover of Dickinson, ND; Jacklyn (Tanner) Schonenback and their son Kordell Schoenenback of Powderville, MT; and Billy Jack Schoonover of Powderville, MT; a brother, Nick Schoonover of Berling, CT; and a nephew, Johnny Schoonover of Windsor, CA. Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father and his grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Miles City with full military honors. Stevenson & Sons Funeral home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
