In Memory Of

Ricky Akers, age 73, of Glendive.

March 3, 1952 – January 14, 2026

Ricky “Rick” Chester Akers, 73, of Glendive, Montana, formerly of Quartz Hill, California, passed away on January 14, 2026, at Glendive Medical Center.

Rick was born on March 3, 1952. He proudly served a short stint in the United States Navy, an experience that reflected his sense of duty and work ethic that followed him throughout his life.

After his military service, Rick continued the family trade in drafting and construction. He worked for Akers & Sons alongside his grandfather, father, and brother Mick, carrying on a legacy built on skill, dedication, and family pride. Over the years, Rick also owned and operated his own construction businesses. His first venture, Wolf Construction, was run with his brother-in-law Keith Wolf. Later, he founded RC Akers, a business he ran successfully until moving to Montana with his daughter and her family.

Even after relocating to Montana, Rick remained devoted to his work, continuing RC Akers Consulting, providing drawings and blueprints until approximately five months ago. He also worked on and off for many years with Western Pacific Roofing, a company that became a second family to him.

Rick is survived by his wife Linda of 50 years, his daughter Cheri Delaney and her husband Tim, and his beloved granddaughters, Charleigh, Kyleigh, and Bre who brought him immense pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarance and Alice Akers; his brothers Lance Akers and his twin Micky Akers; and his sister Jill Akers.

Rick will be remembered for his strong work ethic, loyalty to family, and lifelong dedication to his craft. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the work he created, and the many lives he touched.
