Ricky Lee Spear, age 56, passed away at his home in Gillette, Wyoming on Thursday, November 20, 2003 of natural causes. Upon his wishes, no services will take place.
Ricky Lee Spear was born on January 21, 1947 to Patrick and Colleen (Stone) Spear in Laramie, Wyoming. He was raised and educated in Laramie, Wyoming, graduating from Laramie High School. After high school, he attended two years of Wyoming Tech and two years of Aero Tech School.
Ricky enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for nine years. He served nineteen months in Vietnam and was honorably discharged. Ricky was employed as a mechanic throughout his life, working mainly in the Northwest area. He married Kathy Crawford on December 11, 1978 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.His passion in life was aircraft and he built his own RC airplanes. Ricky was an innovative person that would design his own tools. He was known by his friends and family as the Answer Man for anything mechanical.
Ricky was a person that would get the job done.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Kathy Spear of Gillette, Wyoming, two daughters, Anna and Francie of Wheatland, Wyoming, his father Patrick Spear and step-mother Charlotte of Laramie, Wyoming, his mother, Colleen Stone also of Laramie, WY, three brothers, Mark Spear of Moorcroft, WY, two half brothers, Bart Spear of Laramie, WY, and Hugh Spear of Reno, Nevada, two half sisters, Val and Jackie, three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
