The angels came after our mother, Rita Shoulderblade (HaaTaahe) “Fast Running Woman”, on June 14th, 2016 at the age of 68. Rita was born September 8th, 1947. Mom enjoyed spending times with friends and family, especially her little husband Kae’ce John Bordeaux, and also her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to bingo, reading books and crossword puzzles.
Mom is preceded in death by her parents Fannie Shoulderblade and Mickey Bement; brothers Robert M, Issac B, Morris B Sr., Benji B; sister Mary Ann Eagle; nephew Barry Brady; Niece Mary Eagle; grandson Ben Jr.; and aunt Fern. Mom had many aunts uncles and cousins that are too numerous to mention.
Mom is survived by her children Doug, Wendy (Jim), Todd (Jodi), Heath, Lynette, Lindsay, Frank (Lil C), Vicki (Kenny), Vanessa Bighead, Lisa (Merlin) Bighead; grandchildren Rachel (CJ) Rides Horse, Kayla (Calvin) Medicine Horse, Tricia (Mike) Bighead, Kyle (Rhea) Bordeaux, Aliya and Kiana Russell, Atawna Bordeaux, Antone Bighead, Sage and Shirley Parker, Omeny Seestheground, and numerous great-grandkids. She also leaves behind her close friends and family Ilo (Mark), Magoo, Janice Good Luck, Geraldine F, Susie, Rosi, Inez, Grace Little Crow, Leah Tom, Rita Red Neck, Brother Robert Bement, John Hollow Breast, and Sister Barbara (Harlen) Bement.
The family would like to thank the staff at Billings Clinic, especially Dr. Smith, Diane Jones, the CNA’s, nurses, and doctors who helped Rita during her illness. We want to give huge thanks to Magoo Shoulderblade and Barbara Collins for staying with mom.
Mom is also survived by Bements, Bradys, Fox, Burns, Healths, Fishers, Footes, Harris, Hollowbreast, Two Bulls, Two-Two’s, Shoudlerblades, Robinsons, Red Necks, Bigheads, Eagles, Elk Shoulders, Toms, and White Shield. Our family is large, if we left anyone out, please forgive us.
Family Wake will be at 7 PM June 17th at St Labre Catholic Parish and the Funeral will be held in the St. Labre Catholic Parish at 11:00 AM on June 18th. Burial will follow at the St Labre Cemetery. The family invites you to a feast in the social room at the St Labre Mission in Ashland MT following the burial.
