In Memory Of

Robert C. Bob Davis

Visitation: Sunday, October 9, 2005 with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Funeral services: Monday, October 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church in Miles City.

Interment: will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery with full military honors provided by post #1579.

Robert Clayton Davis, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the Holy Rosary Health Center of complications from cancer surgery.

He was born onJuly 16, 1943 in Jordan, MT. He was the third son of six boys born to Wilbur Morris and Mary Lou Curtis Davis. He attended grades 1-8 at Cat Creek School on Haxby Point. He then attended three years at Garfield County District High School in Jordan. Following his schooling, he went to work for wages in the Forsyth area in 1961 on various ranches for Art Mees, Western Cattle Company and Tex Adams. In 1962, he went to GTI (General Training Institute) at Denver Colorado. In April of 1964 he joined the US Army, basic training at FortOrd, California. He then went to Yakima Washington then to Dougway Proving Grounds atTwilla, Utah. He was stationed overseas at Manheim Germany for one year and 2 months. He drove truck all over Germany, part of France and Spain. In 1964 Bob was honorably discharged from the service and he returned home. Bob married Mary Jane Gregg on June 24, 1966 in Jordan, Montana. He worked for Irions (Ralph) in the Broadus area and for Delbert Hanson on Pumpkin Creek. He worked for Schlumberger and Compton Chemical. He was part owner of Regal Signs, and drove truck forLantis Trucking. Bob later married MarySeabolt on November 4, 1978 and they owned and operated B & M Transfer and storage. Bob hauled US Mail for 8 years. He attended and graduated from UND at Williston, ND. He worked at FSA for several years. He also hauled the Billings Gazette for several years. Bob then married Kay Fourtner Gilbert on December 31, 1995 in Miles City. Bob was currently working for E H Oftedal as a heavy hauler and transport driver.

He is survived by his wife, Kay of Miles City; his daughters: Tammy (Wade) Olson and their children Dannon and Traven of Miles City, Jackie Davis and her daughter Sherri of Great Falls; a step-son Wade Gilbert and his son Jacob of Forsyth, and a step-daughter Jonnie Kay Gilbert of Great Falls; his mother, Mary Lou Davis of Miles City; his brothers Lorn (Dawn) and Mike (Patsy) all of Miles City, Lester (Yvonne) of West Plains, MO; Bruce (Linda) of Escondido, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur M. (Heavy) and a brother Pat.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2005 with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery with full military honors provided by post #1579.
