Robert C. White

Visitation: 5 8 p.m. Tuesday at Saltillo Funeral Home

Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Henry Shelton officiating

Interment: will be St. Thomas Cemetery Saltillo

Robert C. Bob White, 67 died Friday, July 29, 2005, at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

A Saltillo resident, he was born and raised in Miles City, Montana. He was a U. S. Marine and had served in Hawaii. He worked in the construction business in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Texas. After moving to the Tupelo area, he became the owner of White Tornado Shelter Company and White Construction Company. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was a licensed commercial pilot and enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock collecting, and golf.The funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Henry Shelton officiating. Burial will be St. Thomas Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Saltillo is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years whom he married June 3, 1961, Mary Jo Lawlor White of Saltillo; three sons, Christopher Allen White and Allison Walker, Craig Robert White and his wife, Leslie, and Corey James White and his wife Angela, all of Tupelo; three sisters, Laverne Loague and her husband, Jack, of Tupelo, Carol Higgins and her husband, Wayne, of Helena, Montana, and Marilyn Samuelson and her husband, Brice, of Pocatello, Idaho; one brother, Wayne Ray White and his wife, Susan, of Littleton, Colorado; three grandchildren, Lindsey Jordan White, Haley Nicole White, and Hayden Andrew White. He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Neal White on July 7, 1969.

Pallbearers will be Barry Mathis, Tim Keith, Gene Ingram, Bill Kordik, Greg Wood, and Maurice Roy.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the local council of the Knights of Columbus.

Visitation will be 5 8 p.m. Tuesday at Saltillo Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P. O. Box 192, Tupelo, MS 38802 or the St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, 845 Lakeshire Drive, Tupelo, MS 38804.
