Robert (Bob) Colvin, 36, of Miles City, MT passed to his Heavenly Home in his sleep at his parents home in Forsyth on October 3, 2010 of natural causes.
Bob was born, the first child of Leonard and Sue (Hakes) Colvin on January 30, 1974 in Miles City. He attended and graduated from Forsyth High School and later from Anaconda Job Corps. Bobs loves included the Denver Broncos, John Wayne movies, old episodes of Andy Griffith, his music (loud) and time spent hunting with his Dad and others on the family ranch which he usually called his ranch. In later years he liked to go to the ranch to 4-wheel, shoot muskrats and was always looking for that big buck deer.
Bob worked various jobs over the years. One of his favorites as a driver for the company that contracted with BNSF transporting train crews where he became very good friends with railroaders from not just Forsyth but Sheridan, WY, Glendive, MT and Hettinger, ND. His other favorite job was for the last approximate 3 years with Wal-Mart in Miles City, both as a stocker and cashier. He considered most of his co-workers and customers as friends. Bob was employee of the month for February. Bob believed never be late and he was known to show up an hour early for his shifts.Bob was baptized and confirmed in Concordia Lutheran Church in Forsyth where he still attended Christmas Eve Candlelight services every year with his parents although he was a member of Grace Bible Church. He loved to get a joke on someone and we knew we were never going to hear the end of it if
Bob knew. He was a recovering alcoholic and had been active in AA groups over the past several years. Bob had a very compassionate heart and often helped someone out when they needed it, however, he often said afterward Dont tell people, they might think Im a nice guy cant ruin my reputation you know!.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Leonard Colvin, Del and Lloyd Montgomery; maternal grandparents Tom and May Hakes; a very special great aunt, Dee Storm; his beloved niece, Emily Marie and his uncle Tom Risk. He was also preceded in death by several dear friends.
Survivors include his parents; Leonard and Sue Colvin of Forsyth; sister Tandra Draper of Miles City; his much cherished niece, Kelsey Draper of Miles City; a half-brother, Joe Colvin of Denver, CO; uncle Ed and aunt Cheryl Montgomery (Ronnie and Jessica) of CO; aunt Janie Risk; uncle Mick Bowser of CO; special cousins Sunny and Stephan Shepherd and Charlee, Aunt Shirley Colvin and Uncle Bill and Aunt Iris Fischer, Aunt Nancy Smith and cousins Tiffini and Tabitha of Indiana and cousin Tristan of Iowa. And others who he considered his cousins and family, Matthew, Kerry (Ashley and Amanda), Aunt Pat Vaughn, Bob is also survived by his very special cousin with whom he shared many good and sometimes bad times, Tim Blaisdell of Forsyth. They were always there to bail each other out even though they likely might have gotten into whatever it was together to begin with.
His friends are to numerous to list but please know you were all special in Bobs eyes and he loved you! Bobs family misses him very much and always will but we know Bob is with his Heavenly Father now and somehow God will see us through this in only the way He can.
