Robert (Bob) Hageman, age 75, of Jordan, MT passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family the morning of January 13th, 2018 following a long battle with cancer.
Bob was born June 9, 1942 to Harold & Ruthe (Billing) Hageman in Jordan. He was the second of three boys, George Hageman the oldest and Glen Hageman the youngest. Much of his childhood was spent on the ranch with his grandparents Reg & Edla Billing, where his love for all animals began as well as a special bond with his dog “Black Boy.” Following his 8th grade year of school, Bob began working the family business at the Pioneer Garage. Not too many years later Bob & George took over the business when their dad retired. Many people depended on and called Bob over the years to deliver their fuel and propane, fix their furnaces, stoves, washers and dryers no matter the weather or time of day. Bob & Donna (FitzGerald) Hageman were united in marriage on February 20, 1962. To this loving union five children were born: Shelley, Ray, Shannon, Robin & Tasha. Bob was always an active member of the Jordan community. He served as an ambulance driver and as a volunteer fire department member. He was a member of the U.S. Jaycees for many years and received an “Outstanding Director Award” in 1976 for his service with this organization. He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church and was also an Eagle Scout. Bob Hageman & John FitzGerald were instrumental in building the Garfield County Museum along with the help of the community; they also helped organize the construction of the High School track. Bob was one of the cabin owners who participated in the pouring of the current boat ramp being used at the lake. The last six years at the lake Bob enjoyed his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, animals and helping Donna with the gardening and flowers. He also enjoyed helping out at the marina and visiting with the fishermen. His favorite time at the lake was watching the many beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the deck. Bob was a great host who loved to entertain friends and family. He and Donna welcomed all to their home and cabin. His greatest love was pulling water skiers and watching kids swim, play, fish and then return to the cabin to a big barbecue.
Bob is survived by his wife Donna, his five children: RaChell Fogle, Raymond (Wanda) Hageman, Shannon (Dustin) Negaard, Robin (Denim) Fogle and NaTasha (Ben) Powell; his grandchildren: Michael (Ashley) Fogle, Shawna (Harold) Erlenbusch, Richard & Tyrone Hageman, Clay & Katy Negaard, Macy, Libby, Connor & Chase Fogle, Kameron, Kyler, Kloee & Kindra (Sue) Powell; Great grandchildren: Alexandra, Aurianna, Austin & Aiden Rich, MaKenzie Erlenbusch; his two brothers: George (Susan) Hageman, Glen (Kate) Hageman and numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold Hageman and Ruthe Pidal, granddaughter Niki Rich, great granddaughter Alauna Rich, great grandson Landon Parker Erlenbusch and one nephew Mick FitzGerald.

Uncle Bob was such a Gentle Giant. Always a smile on his face and as quick to laugh as he was to breathe. I wish I could tell a story with all the excitement and humor that he was always able to do. So sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. We spent some time in Jordan between 1975-1977 and we remember him from the Garage. The Hegemans were always so nice and willing to help. Our thoughts are with the whole family. God be with you all at this time of sorrow.
Lucille Dunning Small says
Donna, I am so sorry to hear that Bob has passed. It leaves a big empty spot in a wonderful community. Years ago our oldest daughter broke down just outside of Jordan headed to a rodeo. When she called home, I told her, “don’t worry, call Hageman’s Garage and ask for Bob. He will help you”. I knew he would. He got her pickup fixed, she said they had a great visit and she loves Jordan to this day. It was an honor to have known him. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Ron and Adele Barnes says
Our condolences go to all of Bob’s family. Adele and I were so happy to have seen Bob and Donna in August and he was just as I will remember him, positive, happy and funny. When we first moved to Jordan in 1976, Bob was one of the first people I met and he said “you have to be a Jaycee.” He kept us busy and introduced us to everyone. He took us to the lake the first time and of course had a barbeque at his cabin. We had many fishing and hunting adventures together also. I can honestly say that I never met anyone so giving. I know he will be missed by the town of Jordan and Garfield County and especially his family. He gave us all a lifetime of memories.
