Robert (Bob) Henry Lindvig age 66 passed away June 25th at his home near Fallon after a short battle with liver cancer.
Bob was born in Sidney, Montana to William (Spike) and Katherine(Bethel) Taylor Lindvig on January 14th 1954. He was the 7th child of 7 children. He attended grade school and graduated from Terry High School in 1972. In 1977 he married Vicki (Siegle) in Fallon, Montana. Their son Kristian was born in 1978, daughter Sadie in 1983 and then unofficially adopted Heather Carter.
After graduating from high school Bob briefly attended a vo-tech school in Billings until his brother Ron called and needed help in his machine shop in California building race car motors so off to California he went. Then in 1975 his dad needed help back on the farm so he returned back home. Bob was always there for someone needing help. In 1985 his dad retired and Bob then took over the farm. In 2013 he retired from farming and that’s when he really developed his passion for being the “go to sound man” for Prairie County.
Bob wore many hats over the years: He was a drag racer, an auctioneer for local fund raisers, an announcer at bump and runs, demo derbies, tractor pulls, he was the voice at the Fallon Harvest Festival, he was an actor, singer, director and sound man for Parched Prairie Players for many years, a DJ, a baseball coach, a husband and dad, but the hat he was proudest to wear said “PaPa” on it. He was a member of PAL( Prairie Action League), Parched Prairie Players and a “Huge” member of Prairie County. He was the sound man for Terry Public Schools, the Prairie County Fair and the Fallon Harvest Festival for many, many years. He also loved playing music for people to dance to, so he started a DJ business. He never met a piece of sound equipment he didn’t buy…. Bob always had a smile and time to visit with anyone. He never met a stranger, he would have given you his last dime if he thought you needed it, he was always the 1st to show up when someone needed a helping hand and a cruel word never crossed his lips about anyone. Although farming was in his blood, he was in his element when he had a mic in his hand, or was making sure there were no echoes from the speakers, or there were no squeals from the mics, and making sure that anyone using a mic could be heard and that everyone who needed to be heard was heard. Nothing drove him more nuts then going somewhere and the sound system wasn’t working right.
Bob is survived by his wife Vicki (Siegle) of 42 years, son Kristian Lindvig (Krystal),daughters Sadie Bracken (Justin) and Heather Carter, grandchildren Kaylee Lindvig of Rapid City, SD, Kale Dunning and Kaison Lindvig of Miles City, MT, Kayden and Karson Bracken of Froid, MT, sister Georgann Reel(Allen) Beaverton Oregon, brother Steve Lindvig(Wanda) of Billings, Montana and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Ron and Bill Lindvig and sisters Jeanine Holmes and Elise Lindvig.

One of my most favorite people that I have had the pleasure to call my friend. Bob Lindvig was a hard working farmer who allowed me the pleasure of walking his corn fields and river banks while hunting pheasant with my friends and dogs for almost 40 years. That is a lot of peanuts and beers in his shop talking about the topic of the day. Every year I made the trek, every fall with over five dog across those years. Bob was a big man with a kind heart and quick laugh. He tilled the soil in the spring, irrigated in the hot summer and harvested in the fall, he was a man of the earth, a farmer.
The memories of those times in the shop are as important to me as the cackling of a flushed rooster pheasant over the icy Yellowstone River. My dear friend you will indeed be missed as the days turn short and cool this October and a tear will come to my eye remembering days gone by. Rest easy my friend. Vicki, Kristian and Sadie you have had a tough couple of years and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Vicki and Family, Our hearts are so saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. I have so many good memories of directing high school plays with Bob, and his sharing his expertise with sound and lighting was invaluable. He was so full of life, and his chuckle always made any situation better. A beacon of light for our schools and community, he will always be remembered as someone who left the world better than he found it. May God comfort you and your family with peace beyond all understanding.

So long ago I think I may have flagged fields for the Lingvigs. Dad would fly us to the fields then retrieve us so meeting customers was rare in those days.
Much later I remembered that voice at the outings we attended around Fallon and Terry, always a true entertainer he made the outings always more fun. He was a good man….
Blessings to all the family in this time
Terry Knapp says
Bob..My friend since 1964 , when we went to 5th and 6th Grade at Catholic School in Glendive. We rode the bus and always walked home together. Together we joined the Zion Lutheran Boy Scout Troop. The meetings were across the street from your home, and all the Scout Campouts we attended. I will always remember eating more suppers at your home during that time, than at my Home. After school we would do crazy stuff, skateboard down the Church sidewalk, Watch The Munsters etc.. Then when your family moved to Fallon, I would stay a week at a time at your Farm, where you taught me the love of Motorcycles! Bob, I will never forget ya, always a Friend, always treasure our time and memories we shared together. Hope to cya someday up in the sky ok..May God Bless: Terry Knapp/Glendive
