Robert Y. Nelson, age 75, of Miles City, MT passed away on October 1, 2005 at his home Miles City.
Robert was born on September 19, 1930 to Kelly and Marion Nelson. He joined one sister, Irma and one brother Bud. Robert graduated from Custer County High school in Miles City. After graduation, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for four years. He married Lorraine Normandy on April 26, 1962. They had one daughter, Marilyn. Robert was a rancher in Garfield County until 1992, when he moved to Miles City.
Robert is survived by his daughter Marilyn (Tim) Carey of Miles City, MT, his sister Irma (Joe) Kobel of Portland, OR, brother Bud Nelson of Roundup, MT, three grandchildren, Nicholas Carey, Shayla Carey and Yolanda Carey, a special niece and nephew June Nelson and life long companion Curtis Fillafer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2005 from 1:00pm to 8:00 pm in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 11:00am at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by post #1579 Miles City Honor Guard.
