Robert Red Fox II, “Mo’ȯhtaveaenohe” “Black Hawk”, passed away on February 12, 2013 at the Saint Vincent Hospital in Billings. Robert was born to Ralph Red Fox and Angeline Whiteman on July 8, 1959. Robert attended schools in St. Labre and Seiling, Ok. He then attended Eastern Montana College in Billings, MT and SIPI in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Robert went into the Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, KY. He was very proud of being a Northern Cheyenne Tribal Firefighter for many years. He was also detailed to the recovery of the space shuttle Challenger. Robert was a Sun dancer and took pride in his Northern and Southern Cheyenne heritage and was a master war bonnet maker who was taught by his uncle Jimmie Little Coyote. Robert was self-employed and started his own business as Red Fox Designs with the help of the Chief Dull Knife’s Vocational Rehabilitation Program. Robert was known for his kind spirit and strong traditional values. Robert helped to raise his special nephews Cordell and Shawn. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and looked forward to spending time with his family.
Robert had four children Ralph Red Fox, Thyra Red Fox and Ainhus Tallbull of Lame Deer, MT, Michaela Red Cherries of Texas, step-daughter Renee of Lame Deer, Mt and also his six grandchildren Nestah Seminole, Hayley Red Fox, Ashlie and Aarayln Wilson, Sotaaé Tallbull, Allara Tallbull.
Robert is survived by his father Ralph (Marsha) Red Fox, very special aunt Edna Seminole, his children, , sisters Karen (Sam) Red Fox, Jennifer (Lyndon) Spang, DeWanda (Jay) Little Coyote-Houle, Eva Foote, Connie White Crane, Florene, Etheline, Betty, Fonda, Melanie, Virginia (Bernard) Whiteman-Reyes, Ginger Whiteman, Fancie Whiteman brothers Orrin Red Fox, William Red Fox, Winslow (Charlotte) White Crane, Vincent (Clara Ann) White Crane, Verlin Foote, Michael Foote, , Bilford Curley, Tex Curley, Dean Rondeau, and Warren Red Fox, Bruce Junior Whiteman, Frank Whiteman. Nephews Derrick LaBeau, Duran Caffero, Ben Red Fox, Cordell Little Coyote and Shawn Backbone Jr, James, Lafe, Monte, Ronald and Joseph Haugen, Joseph Foote, Tristin Speelman, Brian Red Star and Nieces Pauline and Adrainne Red Fox, Jackie and Jasmine Foote, Jade Roundstone, special friends Mike Limpy, Roydean and Dwight Bullcoming, James “Hicks” Redcherries and Reginald Killsnight Sr..
Robert is preceded in death by his mother Angeline Whiteman, his common law wife Cheryl King, Grandmother Lucy Little Coyote, Grandfather Robert Red Fox I, Sisters Reva Red Fox, Audrey Haugen, Brothers Joe Curly Jr, Logan Curley, Aunts Irene and Helen, Uncle Jimmie Little Coyote, Irvin Red Fox.

Traditional Wake will be 7:00pm at the St. Labre Mission Thursday February, 14, 2013. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am at the St. Labre Mission Friday, February 15, 2013. Burial will follow services at the St. Labre Cemetery.
