In Memory Of

Robert Ritter, age 75, of Miles City formerly of Jordan.

April 20, 1943 – November 22, 2018

Robert Glen Ritter of Miles City formerly of Jordan, passed away at the age of 75 on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018 at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings.

Robert was born April 20, 1943, in Jordan, MT. He was the son of Pete and Caroline (Schwindt) Ritter. He grew up in Jordan and was a graduate of Garfield County High School. Robert married Judy Fields on March 25, 1972 and to this marriage one son was born, Peter, who died in infancy.

Robert worked many years for the State of Montana Highway Department until he was injured while working there. He would later relocate to Miles City and became well known for helping others with their lawn care and other jobs as well.

Robert is fondly remembered by his family, including numerous nieces and nephews, as being good-natured, telling jokes and laughing with them at family gatherings in their younger years.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Judy and infant son Peter, his brothers, Donny and Eddie Ritter, and sister, Janet Sherer.

He is survived by his sister Pauline Abarr of Reno, NV and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside memorial service for the family will take place at a later date. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.

The family would like to thank the Holy Rosary Extended Care Unit and Hospital for their love and care for Robert during his stay with them. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Holy Rosary Extended Care.

Seems like yesterday we were thumping up and down the halls of GCHS scrambling to make the next class. Where did all those years go? My heart goes out to all of the Ritter family. Too many losses too close to the holidays. My prayers are with each of you.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Bob’s passing. He was such a fun person and we had a lot of fun with him when we were kids. He was always around to lend a hand or just visit with. I’ll always remember him fondly.
