“Yellow Plume,” A’ke Naso Heovaestse Robert Shot Gun was born on March 10, 1965 in Crow Agency to Lawrence Shot Gun Sr. and Elva Medicine Bull.
Robert Shot Gun, age 58, passed away on November 19, 2023 at Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
He grew up in Birney, Montana. He was the youngest of 3 boys and a brother to 4 sisters. He attended elementary and junior high school in St. Labre and then was selected for a placement program in Washington where he would finish with a high school diploma. After school he moved back to Lame Deer and became security for the Charging Horse Casino, he was with the casino for many years, making a lifelong friendship with Frank Flying Sr. He had a role with the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Housing. He later moved to Billings, health reasons forced him to retire. He was a member of the Native American Church.
He met Josette in Lame Deer in 2017. In 2021 Robert and Josette married. They had two fur babies, Sassy Mae, which was his service and emotional support dog and Panda, their cat. Robert remained in Billings until the time of his passing.
He was preceded in death by both his grandparents Willis & Anne Medicine Bull, both his parents, brother Larry and Mark Shot Gun, adopted brother Harold (Vance) Littlebird. His daughter Stephanie Shot Gun. Sister Cita Shot Gun, Ramona Shot Gun, Alice Shot Gun. Numerous Arapaho families that have gone before.
He is survived by his twin sibling Roberta Lonebear, brother Larry, Chuck Setoraatse and Willis Medicine Bull, Families, Headswift, Black Kettle, Frogg, Shotgunn’s, Swallows, White Antelopes, Medicinebull, Shaveheads and Browns; Auntie Mary Shot Gun Yazzie, Marjorie Pizzaro; cousins Alberta Yazzie, Twinkle Astorga, Linda Skunkcap, Rosemarie Shot Gun, Regis Pizzaro, Saun Pizarro, Patrick Pizarro, Regina Pizarro, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Kamon and Kayvoni Shot Gun, Elvalyn, and Cedar Lonebear, Redleaf and Cianna Braidedhair. His son Jarrat Shot Gun. Grandkids September Walksnice, Leah Walksnice and Jasper Walksnice, special niece and nephew, Hillary Littlenest and Mike Cheney, special granddaughters, Kira and Scarlet Woodenlegs.

RIP Robert I will always cherish the good memories we worked together at Charging Horse Casino making the casino a good clean safe environment for the customers and showing good humor in the process of the employees.
