In Memory Of

Roberta Lou Lehfeldt

Funeral Services: February 10, 2004 in Colstrip, at 1:00 PM, at the St. Margaret Mary Church

Roberta Bobbie Lou Lehfeldt of Billings formerly of Butte and Colstrip passed away quietly in her sleep at the Mission Ridge Independent Living complex February 2, 2004.

Bobbie was born on June 21, 1932 in Hamilton, MT, the daughter of Herbert and Eda Slack. With her family they moved to Missoula and later to Butte where she graduated from Butte High. While attending high school, she began her working career with the Montana Power Company. On January 13, 1951, Bobbie married Jack Lehfeldt and together they moved to San Diego, CA while Jack was deployed to the Korean War. During her stay in San Diego, Bobbies job sparked her interest in computers. After Jack was discharged from the navy, the family moved to Missoula where Jack completed his mechanic apprenticeship. Because of job opportunities, the family moved back to Butte and Bobbie returned to work at Montana Power and raised her family.

Jack and Bobbie would eventually settle in Colstrip and in 1994 both retired from the Montana Power. Bobbies 35 year career with MPC spanned various departments, but all involved some type of computer. Following retirement, they remained in Colstrip and enjoyed fishing and camping with friends and family at Fort Smith as well as traveling. Bobbie was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed helping her husband coach Little League. She loved dogs and at one point her and Jack had 21 Siberian Huskies sled dogs participating in various races in the state. Their lead dog was a Canadian and American champion show dog. Bobbie was able to balance a working career with lovingly raising her family.

Bobbie is survived by her three children, daughters, Sandy and husband Steve Perusich of Colstrip, Shirley and husband John Snell of Deer Lodge, a son, John Steven Lehfeldt of Krum, TX and daughter-in-law Cindy Lehfeldt of Euless, TX, six grandsons: Justin and wife Sarah Perusich, Ryan and wife Chazzney Perusich, John and wife Elisha Snell, Shawn, Steve, and Jack Snell, five granddaughters, Stephanie and husband Kevin Norman, Nicole and husband Doug Donegan, Alicia Lehfeldt, Stephanie Scearce and Erica and husband Raymond Buckley, 12 great grandchildren; sister Gay Brynie of Bozeman, brother-in-law Gerald Lehfeldt of Tacoma WA, nieces Tammy Brynie of Boston, MA, Barbara Williams of Tacoma and nephew Kevin Brynie of Bristol England. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Eugene Slack and husband of 50 years, Jack.

Funeral services will be on February 10, 2004 in Colstrip, at 1:00 PM, at the St. Margaret Mary Church. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth is in charge of the arrangements.

So sorry to hear of Bobbie’s passing. I worked with Bobbie for a time when I was with Prime Computer and she was with Montana Power.. What a wonderful, wonderful person. By 2004, I was no longer involved with computers and Montana Power and was unaware of her passing. Sorry to have missed her funeral.
