So sad to read of Robin’s passing. He was always ready with an adventurous hunting and/or fishing tale, which was always so entertaining to listen to. He knew where the specific fish hung out in Castle Rock Lake, where I lived, and could’ve drawn a map to locate them… My heart goes out to his family, who meant so much to him. 22. Ken & Kerrie McFarland says

    December 11, 2017 at 11:57 am

When Robin moved into the house across the street he was a crotchety old confirmed bachelor.
Robin would take great delight in driving by in his tricked out Dodge with his boat hooked up harassing Ken about honey do projects and his Ford truck and how his power washer had more PSI. Much to my horror Robin would mow down his beautiful Peonies. “Less yard work and more time to fish”, he would say.
A few times of the neighbors exchanging wild game jerky, smoked meats, homemade goodies, hunting, camping or fishing stories and Robin soon learned he moved into the wrong neighborhood to be Mr. Scrooge.
Barely a day would go by that you did not see Robin in someone’s driveway. Teased him about being Hank, but instead of selling Propane and Propane accessories, he would be selling his stories about “No Tell’em Creek” where he shot his cinnamon bear.
A few years ago Natalie came into Robin’s world and his whole being changed. The beautiful peonies were allowed bloom, the Christmas decorations went up and the lights were on for Trick or Treators.
We were so glad that he had found someone to bring out the best in him.
We will miss him hollering from across the street, “Hey Ken – what’s Kerrie got you working on now?”

    December 11, 2017 at 8:29 pm

I am so sorry for your loss Wanda , Buck and family. Robin was one of a kind. He didn’t care what others thought and was the kind of friend that stuck by u thru thick and thin. He could make u laugh even if u were at your lowest and always had a kind word ready. I had very few true friends in school( which was partly my fault). I just didn’t fit in any group. Robin didn’t have a group. Robin was Robin. He did his own thing and liked everyone until they crossed him or someone he cared about. The greatest memory of our times together was our joint babysitting job. That was one of the memories I will always hold close to my heart. It is way too long to explain here. Just know that under that gruff Robin there was a guy with a heart of gold. RIP Robin. U r going to be missed by so many.

    December 12, 2017 at 12:59 pm

Buck, Wanda & Robin’s loved ones,
My last big bear hugs by Robin were July ’15 at our 40th class reunion. He was so happy when he proudly showed me pictures of ” his kids”. He’d always been a special friend of mine from high school. yet I have one memory from 5th grade. I thought I was pretty tough on the crossbars- monkey bar, so one day I took on several of the guys,” chicken fighting”. When Robin challenged me, I fought hard, yet he got the best of me. until we both fell several feet to the ground. Robin landed on top of me knocking the wind out of me, so I could barely breath. I remember fighting back tears as I was too proud to cry in front of him. Yet Robin felt pretty bad for hurting a girl. I couldn’t even be mad at him, if anything, after that we had mutual respect for each other. Now my tears come easy, because this world has lost one real “teddy bear of a guy”, anyone who knew him loved him. God’s gain, is our loss,
My sincere sympathy & prayers to his loved one.
