Roger Clark Bundy passed away on the evening of April 12, 2024, of natural causes at the Holy Rosary Residential Living Facility. He was 83 years old. Roger was taken to Billings with heart complications 2 weeks prior, but he wanted to be home in Miles City.
Roger was born in Miles City on August 2, 1940, to Charles and Betty (Powellek) Bundy. He was the oldest of 7 kids and was later joined by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Roger was raised and educated in Miles City, graduating from Custer County High School in 1958. After high school he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and in France. After his honorable discharge, Roger returned to Miles City and worked for several companies including Schlumberger before joining the state highway department where he worked for over 30 years.
In 1963, Roger married Marjorie Gold. Three children were born of this union, John Charles, Stacey, and Brock. Roger and Marjorie later divorced. In 1969, Roger married Jean Punteney. Two children were born of this union, Misty and Jory. Roger and Jean later divorced, and he lived the remainder of his life as a bachelor.
Roger was a strong-willed man who lived life by his own rules. He did it his way and stood by his decisions and lived with his choices. He shared himself as he saw fit and never compromised his values or beliefs. He enjoyed attending family events and was delighted to join his brothers for Tuesday morning coffee. He enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour books, listening to old country music, and watching RFDTV.
Roger was preceded in death by his Bundy and Powellek grandparents; his parents Charlie and Betty; sister Bonnie Bundy; Aunt Ruby Fern Bundy; infant son John Charles; great nephew Braden Stewart; and brother-in-law Phil Stewart.
Roger is survived by his children Stacey (Terry) Horsfall, Brock Bundy, Misty (Michael) Choriki all of Billings and Jory (Amanda) Bundy of Miles City. Roger is also survived by his sister Shirley Stewart of Billings; brothers Jim (Carol) Bundy, Don (Nina) Bundy, Duane (Jane) Bundy all of Miles City; and George (Patcee) Bundy of Elizabeth, Colorado. Grandchildren Mason, Mikaela, and Merrick Choriki of Billings and Nate, Andy, and Aubrey Bundy of Miles City. Roger is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Roger’s name to Holy Rosary Residential Living of Miles City, the Alzheimers Association, or your favorite charity.
