In Memory Of

Roger Melchior, age 75, of Miles City.

July 31, 1944 – June 1, 2020

Roger Melchior, age 75, of Miles City passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at the Friendship Villa in Miles City.

Roger was born on July 31, 1944 in Richardton, ND, the son of John and Caroline Melchior. He attended primary school in Richardton and Business College in Bismarck, ND. After college, Roger went to work for Rasco-Tempo in Bismarck and later transferred to Dickinson in 1964 where he met his future wife Barb. Roger and Barb were married in Palermo, ND on July 2, 1967. While in Dickinson, a son, Gary, was born in 1968 and a daughter, Melissa, in 1969. In 1970, Roger was transferred to Miles City where he was the assistant manager of Tempo. While in Miles City, a son, Brandon, was born in 1979 and a daughter, Lindsey, in 1981. After Tempo closed in 1981, Roger worked for the Miles City Laundry for several years before joining his wife at TLC Personal Care Home taking over the books, maintenance, and grocery shopping. After selling TLC in 2011, he enjoyed going to the cabin, fishing, playing cards and vacationing with friends and family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, John and Caroline and a granddaughter Jastina (daughter of Brandon and Sarah). Roger is survived by his wife, Barb of 52 years; children Gary (Carol) Melchior of Helena, MT, Melissa (Marvin) Reddick, Brandon (Sarah) Melchior, Lindsey (Jacob) Nunn all of Miles City; grandchildren Ryan (Jessie) and Jace Reddick, Mazzie (Payton), Griffin, Cobin, Grace Melchior,  Jaxon Nunn,  Ember (Matt) Harper;  Sister Vi (Dave) Obbagy;  brothers Burton (Karen) Melchior, Allan (Marianne) Melchior, Randy (Tama) Melchior, Larry (Pam) Melchior and Kent (Jan) Melchior.

We would like to thank Dr. Fabregas and his staff of the Billings Clinic for their amazing care and compassion throughout this difficult journey. We would also like to thank the staff at the Friendship Villa who went above and beyond to keep Roger comfortable in his last few days of life.

Family will receive friends on Friday June 5, 2020 from 3-6 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Graveside services will be held on Saturday June 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.

Your family has meant so much to us and will always treasure the memories of Roger helping build our barn, watering trees and building fence, not to mention raking thistles and cactus. So happy that you guys were able to visit us here in TN and we could rehash old times, playing cards, that memorable visit to Nashville, eating seafood at Mike’s and having good drinks and laughs together.
