Funeral service for Ronald Innes will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at the New Life Wesleyan Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Kenna Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Gillettes Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 26, 2004.
Ronald Innes of Gillette, Wyoming died on Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming of natural causes.
Ronald Allen Innes was born on April 25, 1924, the son of Alexander and Lydia Blanche (Flint) Innes in Gillette, Wyoming. When he was three years old his family moved from the homestead by the North Pumpkin Butte to their present day ranch. He attended rural schools until high school when he stayed in town and attended Campbell County High School , graduating in 1942. After graduation, he attended the University of Wyoming for a term before returning home to work on the family ranch. On August 13, 1945, Ronald married Wanda Maxine Roush in Hardin, Montana. The couple lived and worked at the Innes ranch. After the birth of their son Ronald, they moved to town for a short while. Then the winter of '49 hit and Ronald moved to his Uncle Richard Flint's ranch north of Gillette to help out. In the spring of that same year his family joined him. In 1952, their second son Robert was born. In 1953 they moved back to Innes ranch and lived there until the time of his death.
Ronald spent much of his spare time hunting and trapping. He enjoyed photography, woodworking and reading. He served on the school board for Campbell County Rural District #8 before consolidation. He also served terms on the Campbell County Fair Board, and the A.S.C.S. Board. Ronald was currently serving on the Campbell County Weed and Pest Board. He was a member of the Wyoming Wool Growers Association and the Wyoming Stock Growers Association.
Ronald is survived by his wife Wanda of Gillette, one son Robert Allen Innes, Robert's wife Cindy, all living at the family ranch, daughter in law Zondra of Phoenix, Az., six grandchildren: Nikki, Ryan, Jenna, Kyle,James, and Kirsten; three sisters Mary Ann Pavlovich of Indiana, Phyllis Peterson of Billings, Montana, Vivian Letson of Cheyenne, Wyoming and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents,one son Ronald Lee Innes in 1998 and one brother Gerald Richard Innes.
