Ronald Roger Reisdorph went home to his Lord and Savior on the morning of April 21, 2013. He passed away at the Rosebud Health Care Center.
Ron was born in Frederick, South Dakota on June 25, 1931 to Frank and Blanche (Morris) Reisdorph. Ron was one of sixteen children though two of them only lived a short time. Ron went to school in Frederick and graduated from school in Ellendale, North Dakota. After high school he attended a teachers college for one year.
He went into the Navy in 1950. After the service he moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota. In 1954 he married Arlene Eisman. Ron and Arlene had four children. They divorced in 1964. Then Ron met and married the love of his life Frances Cherry Watson in Laurel, MT in 1967. Ron and Frances along with Frances’ five children moved to where Ron was doing road construction work which included Forsyth, Dillon and Billings. Ron then took a job at the Western Energy mine in Colstrip, MT so they settled permanently in Forsyth in 1972. Ron retired from Western Energy in 1996.
Ron enjoyed tinkering in his garage, doing yard work both in his yard and at the church. He could sketch and draw though he’d tell you he wasn’t very talented. He enjoyed basic carpentry work as well.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Frances, brother Carroll C. (Bethel) Reisdorph of Colorado Springs, CO, sisters Jeanne (Miles) Miller of Burnsville, MN, Julia Jury of Granite Falls, MN, Roberta Kinne of St. Paul, MN and Marjorie (Dennis) Olson of Hurst, TX, several brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws. He is also survived by his children from his first marriage Cathy (Carlos) Reisdorph Lamberton Ciccone, Vanessa (Kirby) Reisdorph Lamberton Harper, Polly Jo (Jesus) Reisdorph Lamerton Jimenez, and Ronald Roger (Linda) Reisdorph Lamberton Jr. Also five step-children Judith (Larry Hobbs) Ott of Billings, Kippy (Pam) Watson of Forsyth, Karen (Dave) van Rohr of Billings, Gladys (Ed) Quinlan of Miles City and Virginia Syring of Forsyth. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren too numerous to list though each and everyone of them were dearly loved by their “Papa”, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Blanche, brothers, Jesse, Kenneth, Wesley, Arthur, Robert, Richard and Baby Edgar, his sisters Ida Mae, Evelyn and a baby sister.

Ron was a very special person. My husband and I always enjoyed visiting him and Frances. Praying for Frances and all of his family. I wonder if they have a welcoming party in heaven? Martin, my deceased husband, and all Ron’s family and friends up there would have been there to greet him.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ronald Reisdorph. May you find comfort in your happy memories and in remembering the fine qualities you recall of Mr. Reisdorph. Please know that God promises to be, “near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34; 18) Our loving Creator has promised to soon “swallow up death forever…and wipe the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25; 8) Please look forward to the joy of again seeing Mr. Reisdorph in perfect health in Paradise conditions as was originally purposed in the Garden of Eden. Hopefully these promises will ease the pain of loss. Meanwhile we have the opportunity to follow Jesus’ instruction to continue to take in Bible knowledge that leads to everlasting life and gives us comfort and hope (John 17:3).

Francis and Family, I am so saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. He is one of the greatest men I have known. I have very fond memories of Ron that are dear to my heart, that I have told to my family and friends over the years. I love you Ron. You are one of the last real men this planet will ever hold again. Honor, integrity, intellect, and a big heart full of love are qualities that seem to seldom appear together ‘as one’ in one man’s soul. God Bless.
