Memorial service for Rose Kitchel of Gillette, Wyoming will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gillette with Mike Turleyofthe Sheridan Congregation ofJehovah's Witnesses of Sheridan, Wyoming officiating. Private Family visitation will be held. Stevenson Funeral home of Gillette is entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Kitchel, age 79, of Gillette, Wyoming died at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
Rose Marie Kitchel was born on October 2, 1925 the daughter of Frank and Marie Ann (Wattenburg) Barham in Kleenburn, Wyoming. Rose moved to Igloo, South Dakota from Sheridan, Wyoming in 1941 with her mother and siblings. She graduated from Provo High School in Igloo, South Dakota in 1945. After graduation she worked as a letter carrier and then went to work for a time on the Bone's Brothers Dude Ranch. She met Alva Kitchel on a visit to the Pierce Family Ranch. Alva and Rose were married on November 21, 1947 in Sheridan, Wyoming. The family moved to Anaconda, Montana in 1952 with their two oldest sons and then in 1991 in they moved for a short time to Butte, Montana where their youngest son was born. And then the family moved back to Anaconda, Montana. Rose was a homemake most of her life until shewent to take care of her mother in 1980in Sheridan, Wyoming. She stayed in Sheridan, Wyomingafter her mother passed away. While in Sheridan, Wyoming she worked part-time at the Trails End Museum and then the Sheridan County Library until she retired in 1990. Rose then moved to Gillette, Wyoming 1998to be close to her son and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.
Rose is survived by her three sons: Aaron Kitchel of Gillette, Wyoming, Bruce Kitchel of Las Vegas, Nevada and Cameron Kitchel of Anaconda, Colorado; two sisters: Hazel Peirson of Silver Springs, Nevada and Ruth Haas of Sheridan, Wyoming; brother, Fred Barham of Sheridan, Wyoming; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and two daughters-in-law.
