Rose Mary Chaney, age 73, of Biddle, Montana passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at her home near Biddle.
Rose Mary was born in Belle Creek, Montana on January 18, 1933, the daughter of Clyde and Geraldine (Malley) Richards. She attended Ranch Creek Country School and then attended school in Broadus. Rosie married Ralph Chaney on May 5, 1963 in Broadus. In February of 1965, they moved to West Virginia where they lived until January of 1980 when they returned to the Broadus area where they have lived ever since. Rosie enjoyed bowling, especially in the State Bowling Tournament. She enjoyed Nascar, yard work, bird watching and identifying them from her bird book. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, rabbits, and taking fishing trips with Ralph. She loved family gatherings and especially spending time with her grandkids.
Rosie is survived by her husband Ralph Chaney of Biddle, MT; a daughter, Joyce Haverty and her husband Greg of Nitro, WV; a son, Dave Chaney and his wife Michelle of Buffalo, WY; five brothers: Bill (Cathey) Richards of Rapid City, SD; Tom (Fran) Richards of Nisland, SD; Ellis (Lois) Richards of Gillette, WY; Jerry (Connie) Richards of Loganville, GA; and Vic (Debbie) Richards of Gillette, WY; seven sisters: Georgia Traub of Manhattan, MT; Evelyn (Raymond) Williams of Biddle, MT; Ella Mae Morris of Biddle, MT; Sharon (Lester) Clements of Gillette, WY; Linda (Bill) Macy of Gillette, WY; Bev (Ed) Schaffer of Otter, MT; and Donna (Floyd) Mitchell of Broadus, MT; six grandchildren: Angie Jone's, Josh Chaney, Kim Ashley, Casey Haverty, Whitney Chaney and Monique Chaney; three great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Larry in 1989 and Dan in 2003; and a sister, Thelma Manning.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powder River Congregational Church in Broadus. Interment will be held at a later date.
