On July 23, 1923, Rosemary Francis Neary was born and adopted by Dr. Bernard and Dessidaria (Smay) Neary in Helena.
She grew up in St. Xavier and Pryor, moving to Johnstown, Penn when she was a teenager. Upon graduation, she returned to her beloved Montana.
She started nursing school at St. Vincent’s hospital. After graduation, her career at St. Vincent’s began and would span over 4 decades. She served in many departments at St. V’s but her very favorite was being a nurse in the New Born Nursery.
It is at the hospital, that she met her future husband, Jesse Harold “Buck” Branstetter. The two were married on May 23, 1944 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Billings. They had four children Judith, Harold, Bernard and Bridgette.
Upon retirement she started her most important job. Rosemary moved in with her daughter Bridgette and son in law Keith Campbell to become a Nanny to her 3 youngest grandchildren, Jessica, Cole and Kaid. They and great grandson Joey were blessed to be cared for by Grandmother for over 24 years.
Rosemary enjoyed reading and loved history, which she lived through a lot in her 94 plus years., including the 1936 Johnstown flood. She was known for her brutal honesty, her kind, giving heart and being selfless. The most important thing in her life was her family. She loved her Catholic religion. The key to her long life must have been her one daily beer and chocolate!
Rosemary was met in Heaven on Sat. Dec. 9 by her grandmother, parents, husband, brother, John, son in law Harvey and grandson Joe Sr.
Rosemary is survived by her 4 children Judy, Buth (Mary), Tink (Kyla) and Bridgette (Keith), 11 grandchildren Chandel (Randy), Johnney (Amy), Corinne, Kerry, Jason (Keirston), Colleen (Chad), Trent (Vicky), Jeana (Travis), Jessica, Cole and Kaid, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.
Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Hospice or to the charity of one’s choice.

Will miss another of the great ones! I hope in heaven she and Buck are together again and she finds my mom and dad and gives them a big hug from me!
She was one lucky lady to have you care for her in her last days.
