Roy passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital from a long term illness. He was 58 years old.
Roy Allen White was born on November 15, 1945, the son of Turley and Marcella (Nelms) White in Fort Morgan, Colorado. He attended local Schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy following his education. Upon his discharge from the service Roy drove a milk truck and also worked for REA installing power lines throughout Colorado. He married Mary K. Brewster in July of 1966 in Colorado and they were later divorced. In 1974 Roy moved to Gillette and was employed with Amax Coal Company, now R.A.G. as a shovel operator. He retired recently due to health reasons. Roy enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends and his dogs, Trohna and Mitzi. He liked to gather with friends after work at Lakeside Liquors. His greatest passion was spending time out at Keyhole Reservoir and watching his children and grandchildren playing and fishing. He would take his motor home out to the lake for the entire summer and spend his free time there. Roy would make sure everyone was having a good time and enjoyed hearing people laugh. His grandchildren were what made him happy. He was known as the big man with a bigger heart.
Roy is survived by his two sons: Roy Allen (Jennifer) White Jr. and Jay J. White both of Gillette, Wyoming; his stepchildren Randy Sabin of Cozad Nebraska, Greg Sabin, Mike Johnston and Stacey Miller of Gothenburg, Nebraska, five brothers: Floyd White of Pueblo, Colorado; Archie White of Fort Morgan, Colorado; Larry White of Denver, Colorado; Richard White of Tucson, Arizona; and Gary White of Greeley, Colorado; two sisters: Alice and Shirley of Fort Morgan, Colorado and fifteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and a sister, Velma Ruth.
