Roy Lee Sayers was born on November 23, 1937, to Francis and Roberta Sayers in Hutchinson, Kansas. His childhood was spent in and around Hutchinson, graduating from high school in Arlington, Kansas in the class of 1956.

Roy had a God given talent in music. Even though he had never had a music lesson, he could play a keyboard and sing for anybodies and everybodys entertainment. He did this for several yearscombining it with coast to coast trucking. These two loves were strong, but there was one even stronger, horses. In the end, they won out over all else. All his time and energy went into the care and maintenance of his horses and his connections to them. Roy came to live in Miles City around 1987. He found friends who shared the same passion for raising horses and his zest for living. Roy was a hard worker, had a great sense of humor, and loved to leave you laughing. He had a love for his best friends, his dogs. Roy enjoyed spending time with friends and family whenever his truck would lead him there.

Roy was preceded in death by his father and 2 brothers.

Roy has one daughter, Misty Sayers (Jeff) Redlin, ofConrad, Montana and three grandsons (SD), a step-grand-daughter and great-granddaughter (OR). He is also survived by his mother Roberta Dellenbaugh of Argonia, KS, one brother, Raymond Sayers of Phoenix, AZ, three sisters, Bernadine Gosch ofArgonia, KS, Shirley Ann (Steve) Tool of PonteVerda, FL, and Carolyn Sayers ofWichita, KS. Roy has many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and cousins. Roy has a loving friend, Donna M.Looman of twenty years of whom he shared many years of companionship, love of ranching and horse racing.
