Roy Phipps

Visitation: Thursday, February, 17, 2005 from 1:00 pm at 6:00 pm at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan, MT

Military Graveside Services: Friday, February 18, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hearts of Peace Cemetery in Brusett, MT

Roy Charles Phipps, age 76, of Jordan passed away on February 14, 2005 at the Garfield County Heath Center in Jordan.

Roy was born on August 15, 1928 in Miles City, the son of Charles A. Phipps and Elsie (Loomis) Phipps. Roy grew up on the family ranch and attended school at the Blackfoot School. He worked on the ranch until he entered the United States Marine Corps in 1952. He later went into the Air Force and after 21 years of service, retired from that branch of the service. After his retirement, he spent his time helping out family and neighbors with farm and ranch work. Roy was an avid fisherman and usually out fished everyone.

Roy is survived by his daughters; Tammy (Craig) Shawver of Brusett, MT and Brenda Phipps and her friend Russ Sanders of Minneapolis, MN, and grandchildren; Josh, Zach, Stephanie, Sean, Chris, Kayla and Jennifer, his brothers; Frank Phipps of Riverton, WY, Curtis (Flossie) Phipps of Brusett, MT and Clinton (Prentice) Phipps of Brusett, MT, his sisters; Evelyn (Curtis) Chamberlin of Brusett, MT, Mary (Bob) Cowin of Jordan, his sisters-in-law Nell (Fred) Liese of Harlem, MT and Margie Phipps of Brusett, MT. Roy is also survived by many nieces and nephews, his Aunt and Uncle Walter and Clara Vannoy, Aunts Ellen Saylor, June Loomis and Margaret Loomis. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, David and Bobby.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February, 17, 2005 from 1:00 pm at 6:00 pm at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan, MT. Graveside services with full Military Rites will be held on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hearts of Peace Cemetery in Brusett, MT. Condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com. If desired, memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Hall in Jordan or to the charity of one's choice.
